| Mid Beds District Council have organised a series of roadshow events across their district as part of their consultation with residents and businesses. NHDC have hardly publicised their consultation process at all. Why is it left to bodies such as Hitchin Forum and the local media to alert the public to the importance of this strategic exercise? It will effect all our lives for years to come. |

Dear Hitchin Forum
We wish you would desist in inciting the normally placid people of Hitchin town to make our lives more difficult. We work very hard as it is to avoid confrontation with the public, if we held meetings to actually inform them about what we have to get on with we wouldn't have time to get on with it!
Yours representationally

Dear People of Hitchin
Once again we find that your rulers have made some abitrary decisions about bits of land that we regard as our homes, such as the area I live in behind the Aspens. I can tell you humans that I am insulted when I find you have reclassified the green lawn I regularly dig holes through as a Brownfeild site. I have consulted my country cousins who live in the pleasant grassy hill top area beyond the houses of westerly Hitchin and they say their green belt area is under threat of development even without it being reclassified as Brownfield!
You lot think you can destroy our habitats without a 'by your leave' but you may have another thought coming when you experience geological disturbance like the one we caused early on Wednesday morning. So if you want a peaceful life leave our homes alone.
Yours determindly,
Mole (with support from Badger, Rat and Frog). |

Dear Humans
I wish to apologise on behalf of the NHD Animal and Bird Council for the robust e-mail sent to you by Officer Mole. As you know we like to cohabit with your species peacefully and therefore invite you to undertake a presentation of, and discuss our concerns about, the Land Allocations Document at our next Hitchin Committee meeting, which as you know we hold more frequently than yours at every full moon.
Yours twit twooingly
Wise Owl (Tawny) Leader of the Council. |

Dear Forum Members
It distresses me to have discovered that some person and other beings have hacked into my computer and posted messages on this discussion site in the name of Choney which closely resembles my name. This draws me to two conclusions, first that we are not the only species who are computer literate and second that you may suffer the same intervention no matter what storey you may live on.
However this may have happened because of my well known campaign against the 'fowling' of our property by the huge population of pigeons living in central Hitchin. Actually its a campaign against people feeding them with bread, but you can deduce that they will be disadvantaged if the campaign succeeds. So you can see that, in addition to Dr Dolittle, pigeons can converse with owls, moles and at least one NHDC Councillor.
Yours apologetically
Chris Honey. |
